Chongli Ski Trip — Best Routing & Costs from Singapore

Getting to Chongli from Beijing
Chongli is the 2022 Winter Olympics ski hub, about an hour by high-speed rail from Beijing, then a short taxi or shuttle to the resorts. No separate flight is needed.
The high-speed rail from Beijing Qinghe to Taizicheng station (Chongli) costs ¥99 for a 2nd-class seat and takes roughly 50 minutes to an hour, per 百度知道 and 北京日报. There are 5 direct trains daily (G7831/33/35/37), with the fastest, G7835, taking about 1.28 hours, per 车主手册. The return leg from Chongli to Beijing is also ¥99.
Chongli 3-Day Ski Cost (Wanlong)
Dec 19–30 falls in the Christmas (圣诞) pricing tier at Wanlong (万龙), which is higher than the weekday rate. Prices below are from the resort's published ticket list.
At Wanlong (万龙), a 2-day weekend pass with skis, boots, poles and helmet is ¥1,459, and a 1-day weekend pass is ¥759, for a 3-day total of ¥2,218 (about S$420), per 崇礼滑雪网. Bringing your own gear drops the 2-day price to ¥1,059, while a full kit including clothing is ¥1,619. The cheapest on-mountain stay is the Wanlong apartment (山景休闲居) at ¥1,199 per night, or ¥3,597 for three nights (about S$682); the mid-range 双龙酒店 mountain-view standard room is ¥1,569 per night, per 崇礼滑雪网. Note that Dec 19–30 sits in the Christmas pricing tier, which is higher than the weekday rate.

Option A, round-trip Beijing plus rail to Chongli, comes to S$607.50 per person and is the cheapest and simplest. Option B, an open-jaw flying into Beijing and out of Shanghai, adds S$149 but gives you two cities with a 4h18m high-speed rail link between them. Option C, round-trip Shanghai plus HSR to Beijing, is the most expensive at S$787 and not worth it.
Beijing–Shanghai High-Speed Rail
If you want a second city, the HSR between Beijing and Shanghai is fast and reasonably priced.
The Beijing South to Shanghai Hongqiao 2nd-class fare is ¥553 with a journey of about 4 hours 18 minutes on the 复兴号 (G22/G17), per 央广网 and 澎湃新闻. Pricing is dynamic, floating in the ¥498–598 range.
The Verdict
The most cost-efficient routing is round-trip Beijing plus rail to Chongli.
Chongli is just an hour by rail from Beijing, so no separate flight is needed. Spend 3 days skiing Chongli, then roughly 9 days in Beijing, all reachable without extra flights. If you want a second city, the open-jaw option (fly into Beijing, out of Shanghai) adds S$149 but gives you Beijing plus Shanghai with a 4h18m HSR between them.
Compared with earlier options, Chongli is cheaper than Niseko (S$420 vs S$744 for a 3-day ski) and comparable to Yabuli, but with better snow (higher altitude, Olympic-grade resort) and an hour of rail from Beijing, versus 3+ hours from Harbin to Yabuli.
